07: Name Menu

Purpose:

The Name menu is used to change the 3 character name of the currently selected Model. So not only are models represent by numbers in the Model Menu. They also have their own 3 character name to personalize the model identification. This makes it easier to choose which model memory is active.

How to access this menu:

The Name Menu is a menu within the Main Menu. To open in up, do the following

  • Starting from the Home Screen
  • Press enter-SHORT
  • Scroll till Name is lit up
  • Press enter-SHORT
  • This is the name menu

How to use this menu:

The Name menu has 3 parameters to adjust; the first character, second character, and the third character. Once the name menu has been entered the first character is ready to be adjusted. Simply SCROLL to the desired character then press enter-Short. After enter-Short has been pressed, the second character can be adjusted with the SCROLL wheel. Press enter-Short again and now the third character can be adjusted with the SCROLL wheel. If enter-SHORT is pressed, it'll loop around back to the first character and the procedure is started over again.

Press enter-LONG or END to exit the menu and return to the main menu. Press BACK to exit the menu and return to the home screen.

So to summarize

  • Use enter-SHORT to cycle through the active character waiting to be adjusted
  • Use SCROLL to change the active character
  • Use enter-LONG, END, or BACK to exit the menu.

Screen Indicators:

While the Name Menu is open, the following should occur

  • NAME in the top menu bar is lit up
  • The active character waiting to be adjusted will be blinking

Other Noteworthy information:

This menu is rather simple. It is highly recommended to change the model name to something than the default M**. This is because it's hard to keep track of which model memory is which after more than a couple different models is saved. Also, check out the Copy Model article to learn how to copy/backup models. This allows settings to be tinkered with, without the fear of not being able to return to the old settings.
