Both the Flysky GT3B and the GT3C have a scroll wheel, enter button, back button, and an end button. These are used for 95% of the navigation in the 0.6.1 firmware. Below are descriptions of what each one does and how to use it.
Scroll Wheel:
The scroll wheel is used to make an adjustment. When a certain menu or parameter is active the scroll wheel will cycle through choices for available for that menu or parameter. These "choices" can be adjusting a value for a selected parameter or cycling through parameters or sub menus within the parent menu.
Throughout these knowledge base articles, the term SCROLL will be used. SCROLL means to spin the scroll wheel, usually in the clockwise (to the right) direction.
Another useful feature of the scroll wheel is that while the radio is being used(controlling a remote control vehicle) and one of the buttons are pressed (to adjust the trim or another setting), the scroll wheel can be used to quickly adjust that setting. See example 1 below for more details on how this works.
Also, in the GLOBAL settings menu, there is a setting to reverse scroll wheel. So instead of clockwise progressing "down" through the menus, it'll go backwards "up" through the menu's. Remember the 0.6.1 is based on a top to bottom hierarchy. For the GT3B, this doesn't need to be changed. However, the GT3C scroll wheel is backwards from the GT3B scroll wheel. By default the 0.6.1 firmware is setup for the GT3B and using the backwards scroll wheel on the GT3C feels counter-intuitive. So reversing the GT3C scroll wheel from the get go will be beneficial.
Example 1:
Lets say that the dual rate switch is mapped to adjust the position of channel 3 in 2% increments (more about this later). Now when that switch is pressed, the channel 3 screen will appear on the radio and display the >updated position of channel, this is displayed for 5 seconds. During that 5 seconds (while that screen is displayed), if the scroll wheel is turned, each click will adjust that value by the step rate set for that switch (2% in >this case).
Enter Button:
The enter button is when the scroll wheel is pressed downwards. One of the additions with the new firmware is that firmware 0.6.1 differentiates between a long click and short click. By default, the 1 second mark is used to differentiate between the different types of clicks. However, this can be adjusted to be longer or shorter in the GLOBAL settings menu.
- Short Click:
A short click is a very quick press, by default any click less than a second long. A short click is used to select a main menu or cycle through a parameter list.
Throughout these knowledge base articles, the term enter-SHORT will be used. enter-SHORT means a short click of the enter button.
Example 2:
While in the main menu, if a short click maneuver is performed, it will open the menu that is highlighted....these menu's are generally the trim, expo, e.point, etc menus.
Example 3:
While in a parameter list, if a short click maneuver is performed, it will change between the different parameters within that parameter list. So if the key mapping sub menu is open the enter button will change between >the different parameters that can be adjusted. So in other words, it allows unidirectional movement through the different parameters in a sub-menu. After so many clicks the first menu will come up again (it'll just keep >looping through the parameters)
- Long Click:
A long click by default is when the enter button is pressed and held for longer than 1 second. A long click is used to enter into a sub-menu and to save/exit from a menu.
Throughout these knowledge base articles, the term enter-LONG will be used. enter-LONG means a long click of the enter button.
Example 4:
While in the main menu, if the scroll wheel is scrolled to REV and a long click maneuver is performed, then the Key Mapping menu will be activated instead of the reverse menu. In other words, the sub-menu for REV >was just opened.
Example 5:
While in the exponential menu, if a long click maneuver is performed then the newly adjusted values will be saved and then the menu will be exited and the main menu will be displayed.
Back and End button:
The back and end button generally behave the exact same way. Their main function is to save then exit a menu (just like enter long does). In certain menu's they may behave differently and i'll make note of those behaviors in this section at a later date (I honestly don't know right now, i generally just use enter-LONG to exit/save)
