Purpose:
The End Point Adjustment menu is used to adjust the maximum channel movement (or Servo throw). The left and right maxima on each channel can be adjusted independently.
How to access this menu:
The End Point Adjustment Menu is a menu within the Main Menu. To open in up, do the following
- Starting from the Home Screen
- Press enter-SHORT
- Scroll till E.POINT is lit up
- Press enter-SHORT
- This is the End Point Adjustment menu
How to use this menu:
Within the EPA menu there will be "n" number of secondary menu's, where "n" is the number of channels activated for a given model. Each secondary menu (each channel) has two parameters than can be changed; Left and right endpoints. Once the EPA menu has been entered use the SCROLL wheel to switch channels. Press enter-SHORT to select the channel. Now use the steering wheel or trigger to switch between the left and right end point parameter (rotate the wheel/trigger back and forth across neutral). Now use the SCROLL wheel to change the percentage for the selected end point (Left/Right) Then press enter-SHORT to go back to the channel selection.
WARNING/NOTE: The active channel will go to it's max end point. This is to allow for active adjustment while watching the servo. It is highly recommended to turn the left and right endpoints down to 0% before turning on the rc car to adjust end points. After the rc car has power, slowly turn up the end point to the desired value. This will prevent linkage breaking and the servo from burning up
Press enter-LONG or END to exit the menu and return to the main menu. Press BACK to exit the menu and return to the home screen.
So to summarize
- Use SCROLL to switch the active channel
- Press enter-SHORT to select the active channel
- Use the steering wheel or trigger to select between left/right end points
- Use SCROLL to adjust maximum percentage for selected channel and end point
- Press enter-SHORT to return to channel selection
- Use enter-LONG, END, or BACK to exit the menu.
Screen Indicators:
While the EPA Menu is open, the following should occur
- E.POINT in the top menu bar is lit up and "Channel:" on the left will be lit up, and the "%" on the right will be light up
- If in channel selection, the 7 segment number will be blinking. This is the active channel
- If choosing a end point percentage, the 3 character dot display will be blinking the current percentage
- The arrows above the 3 character dot display will indicate which end point is currently being displayed/adjusted
Other Noteworthy information:
This is one of the most important settings to set up correctly because it can offer max servo throw and maximum servo life. Sure, this setting can be left at max...but if a servo is constantly running into it's mechanical stop it will prematurely wear out. So set e points to a percent or two below their mechanical stop to get maximum servo life.
